A beautiful day!

Today has been a beautiful day.  We had a lovely blue northern.  It was really cool to look across the horizon and see the stack of blue clouds coming in cold and fast.  It wasn't quite so cool when the sky opened up on me while I was driving home LOL

I am now sitting here at my computer playing my silly facebook games and, as I'm sure some of you are familiar, they are at a standstill.  I must wait another 36 minutes until I can continue on those....sadly almost as addicting as nicotine LOL

Since I can't play my silly little games, I decided to get out my trusty spiral notebook and make a list of good reasons to smoke (blank), reasons I am quitting (lots) and health benefits to be found as I progress along this journey.  I'm expanding my list to include my weight loss goals, exercise goals and general lifestyle changes.  I think this is a really good reference tool for those times when I may feel weak.  I've already made my lists of triggers and ways to counteract them, but after my recent failure, I'm going to expand that list as well.

The beautiful weather today, the lovely rain (thank you, Lord, for this blessing) has really given me time to think.  I want to enjoy this 'cold' snap, I want to dance in the rain!  This beautiful day that the Lord has made is just added motivation AND icing on the cake for my quit!

Emmy Sky hello!!

Sounds great! SO when is your new quit date and what are you doing to get ready? Have you figured out what happened that you allowed the relapse?

I am really glad you are enjoying the beauty of life friend...let us take it to the next step...xo

Huggs to you, joyeux!  My quit date is midnight tonight.  Yes, I know the reasons I allowed a relapse, and I don't really want to go into all the details, suffice it to say, life went to hell in a handbasket and swept me along for the ride.  I'm updating my trigger list and brainstorming additional ways to to make sure I am prepared and ready for any surprises life throws at me.  Clearly, we can't plan out every aspect of every possibility of what may or might happen, but I will put into place some serious stress management techniques so that if something does pop up that I'm not prepared for, I can handle the situation without resorting to old, bad, idiotic (and unhelpful) habits.

There is a time for every purpose under heaven.  This is my time and I will be victorious.

Oh my...tomorrow is my date and not sure how I even navigated here.  Seemed like the blogs were years old.  But, I really did like the videos and they gave me more info than my dr. had.  Praying I have what it takes.  I've tried so many methods, so many timeS!

Yep, I saw, it, that happens to be one of the scriptures quoted on my profile page!  Yep, life is a beautiful thing and I am done wasting it.

You can do it dfranke!  Don't depend on try or hope, make lists and plans.  I recently failed a quit, so I know, even more now, that a plan of attack for surprise cravings is critical!  Try to anticipate things that you can't anticipate (I know that sounds stupid and hard) and make a plan to get through it.  Make a plan for stress management, most of the people I know who fail, fail because of stress, not addiction.  A cigarette does not help you in a stressful situation.  It doesn't make the stress go away.  It actually makes more stress by feeding the nicotine demon who will then amp up the stress more when he's hungry again!  If you can find a way to deal with the everyday stressors of life you will be so ahead of the game.  If you can get a plan in place to keep you calm and ready to deal with the unforeseen stressors of life, you will win!  You can do this, and we're here with you every step of the way 😄

Wishingstar (beautiful name!), you can do this and you will get it right.  I've read a bit of your blog, and I understand you have some additional challenges, but you are strong and you can succeed!

There is plenty of that rain left in my back yard right now, it floods back there something awful!  I'll sprinkle it over you and kill the muggies 😄
