716 days so far - counting down to 2 years

Went swimming with my neice yesterday - she lives in college housing. There were several college age people sitting around the pool - smoking. I felt so bad for them. The do not think anything bad will happen to them health-wise in 30 or 40 years because of smoking. Boy - do they have a wake up call coming.

So sad. I hope they wake up.

If I could go back in time to when I was that snotty college kid who thought she was invincible, I would snatch the cig out of my mouth and kick my own butt.

Congrats on almost-2 years, wahoo!  I love hearing counts in "years" instead of "days"!

I will be thrilled to be at 2 years! Congratulations!  My 19 year old daughter smokes. I wish I could share my wisdom with her, but if she is like me, she thinks she has years to quit before the smoking will really affect her. What she doesn't understand is that once it does affect you...it is too late.

I am truely blessed that when I finally made the decision to stop the madness, and throw the whole stinking mess out of my life, it was not because I became sick. So so so so so fortunate here.
