Latest update!! I would first like to apologize to joedice for not responding to your last message to me. I so apreciate you and the others here that check in with me regularly. It is so amazing to me that you all take the time to follow up with me. When I quit  Dec 1 I knew I would have about 7 months smoke free before welcoming 3 new members to our family. Well these two came two days before my 7 month anniversary. Born at 7:18 and 7:19 am June 29th we welcomed our families first set of twins. Baby girl A on the right was 6 lb 3 oz and 19 in long, Baby girl B on the left was 5lb 13 oz and 19 1/2 in long. Mom and babies are recovering well and actually went home today. I was in the waiting room by myself while my daughter was in surgery (C-section) I arrived at the hospital at about 6:30 am and didn't leave until after 9 pm. Throughout the day I got pangs in my chest that something was missing. I recognized them as mini craves. On my way home that night I knew I had successfully navigated another hurdle by making it through a stressful hospital situation without smoking. I thought of the reward I got by not having to go looking for a place to smoke, not coming in and wanting to hold new babies smelling like smoke, and having all that extra time to help my daughter without needing to smoke. I have another grand girl due in a few weeks and I can't wait to meet her. Life is good and I love being able to breath and enjoy it!!

Happy for you all.  "I thought of the reward I got by not having to go looking for a place to smoke, not coming in and wanting to hold new babies smelling like smoke, and having all that extra time to help my daughter without needing to smoke."  Think also about the fact that these children newly born will get to have more time with YOU, because of the decision and commitment that you've made.

Why is it amazing to you that we check in and care about your quit.   We DO care.  Because we know the ramifications of this addiction.  And we're hungry for the successes.  And YOU are one of them.
