Hi Ineedhelpandsuppprt 7 days of Freedom is super...you are almost through hell week...even though you are quit smoking, you are still early in this journey...and you will have craves and urges...its the addict in you wanting a fix...keep busy (good you came here).../blogs/Maggie_quit_8-1-2010-blog/2012/03/19/100-things-to-do-instead-of-smoking?sr=search&searchId=8... Also, know that the more you say NO to nico the stronger you get and the weaker nico gets...whenever I have a crave I tell myself that tomorrow will be better...and often after a good night’s rest I would wake and feel better...Gotcha in my thoughts ~ Colleen 392 DOF
Reframe...Embrace those cravings. They are uncomfortable but so important to your final quit. Each crave is an indication the poison is leaving your body. Instead of running from the crave, I ran to it, embraced it, experienced it because each crave is telling me I am getting well.
You are doing great. Not everyone gets 7 days of a quit. You are doing great!
Big congrats on your 8 days now. Cravings are a part of the process. They're not fun, but refocusing really helps. I often just walked out the door and walked a few blocks. And coming to the ex really helped me. The crave would pass by the time I just read other posts. Keep reminding yourself when a crave hits "I don't do that anymore". It's still my go to! Stay close.
Thanks Barb! it's good to know that it's just part of the process. It really helps to get responses from all of you wonderful people! It makes me feel good that you guys are right here & that I'm not alone thru this journey.....
