Hello everyone,  been awhile since I have checked in with the site.

Hope this finds each of you doing well and strong in your quit, whether it is your first hour, first day, first week, first month, first year.....each one is important!

I never thought I would achieve this goal and boy does it feel great!  My quit has been a nicotine free quit ( the first 4 days I did use NRT gum)  Dropping the gum at the start was a good choice for me.......I felt so bad with the withdrawals,  I figured I might as well quit all nicotine rather than have another type of withdrawal down the road.

The days have gotten much easier and there are many days that I do not think of smoking AT ALL!   For someone who smoked for 33 years, heavy smoker of almost 2 packs a day, it does not seem possible not to think of smoking at all!

Then there are the times that I would like a cigarette, usually something stressful triggers that urge.  Each time I successfully get through another craving, it adds strength to my quit.  I realize I chose not to smoke in that situation........and I actually LIVED THROUGH IT........so I CAN GET THROUGH THE NEXT CRAVING!  For those of you new to your quit, YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!

I don't want to become smug in my quit........There are many who have quit for over a year and then started back, so I thank them for sharing that knowledge, to help prepare me for the situations that can cause me to fall.   I realize I must chose not to smoke one ever again. NOPE!! not one puff ever!! I need support and this site is a great source for me.

I would not be here if not for this site.  I do believe this helped to get me through the roughest of withdrawals.  I can come here, no matter what time of day or night , and there is someone here to help.  Even if it is only to read blogs,.......that helped me to get through the urge at that moment.  I have met some incredible people who have shared their thoughts, trials, and successes so much more eloquently than I can.  What a great group............thank you bunches!!

Hugs & Prayers to each of you!

Stay strong & keep your quit  😉

Terrie
