542 Days Smoke Free (Healthy as a Horse)

Just stopping by to say hello, my fellow Ex's.  I'm 6 days shy of 1 year and 6 months SMOKE FREE!  I am still running races and now am training for a half marathon in December which is 2 weeks before I turn "50".  I am feeling great and strong!  I truly traded one addition for another--smoking to running!  I could have saved over $3,200 dollars, but I've re-invested it into my running habit by the way of shoes, clothes, race entry fees and other cool gadgets and my wonderful husband doesn't mind.  I think the running is also helping me with my light depression/mid-life crisis because when I'm out there, it's just me, myself and God.  It has been so hot this summer so I am really looking forward to Fall and the first day is tomorrow.  It will still be 90 here in Austin, but cooler mornings and nights are coming soon!

I hope you are all doing well and I avoiding those nasty triggers in the first few weeks or months!  If you add exercise into your life during your journey to quit, you will be amazed how good you feel and what you can accomplish. You can feel your lungs getting healthy as you increase your distance and build up strength.

Good Luck and Stay Strong,

Stacey

Great blog Stacey,

Thanks for dropping by and sharing your milestone with us.  Sounds like you are truly free, healthy (both emotionally as well as physically), and on fire to stay that way.  I admire your energy.  I hope that I can re-establish that endorfin rush again.  Stay strong & good luck in your next race.
