50 Days Smoke Free and no COPD Report

One of the reasons that I committed to this quit was a new symptom of wheezing (a lot) for 3 months.  My doctor put me on several inhalers and steroids, but was afraid that I had developed COPD.  I am happy to report that now my lungs are clear (no more pneumonia - no COPD); however, a little wheezing remains.  This wheeze is coming from the esophagus not the lungs due to reflux.  Reflux is also irritated by smoking and he says that it should get better without the cigs and with a new med to control it.  I hope that is true - my oldest daughter expects me to train for at least a 5K with her.  She is running 10Ks since she quit and training for a half marathon.  Regardless the cigarettes are gone forever!  I may have to walk that 5K, but I intend to do it one way or another.
