Well hello all you wonderful people! I have been trying to get on here for a while but I have been struggling with the new format and couldn't log in for a while before that (thanks mark!) Anyway! I just wanted to stop by and say hello and say I am still smoke free thanks to the support and education I received by many of the people on this site!

Life has not been easy but I don't have that one extra problem (huge) and I am so thankful for that! I am 5 years smoke free which is the best.... 10 years since my stroke and I (knock on wood) haven't had another that I know of.  Divorced and living alone but my feathered and furry family are all I need. Yesterday was my smoke free anniversary but well.... I missed the train! So can someone tell me if I am supposed to use blog posts or "conversations" and how do I know the difference? I am on my phone (no home internet) and it's a little confusing.  I'm sure it will be fine once I figure it out.  I can't find my old posts today so I can't remember what I have said previously so I'm not sure what I have updated .. . Bilateral hip replacements went spectacularly...  Moved to a different, more affordable area and all that money I didn't spend on cigarettes helped me get into my own little home so hell yeah! I hope everyone is doing well and for anyone just starting out please know that it is so worth it! Do the work and you won't regret it.  I don't crave cigarettes anymore. Every so often I will have a "thought" but I know how to handle the thoughts now and that it wouldn't help ANYTHING if I were to start again. All it does is give you another problem.  There are so many truly rewarding activities to substitute for that activity that gives you NOTHING!

Well I guess that's all folks! Have a great day ✌️ Congratulations to all of you for whatever stage you are at in your journey!

Congrats on your 5 year smoke free anniversary, you should be very proud of yourself, and you have inspired me in so many ways already!

I quit when told there were some ground glass nodules on my lungs, and it's been almost 9 months now!  I know that one day I will be like you and say 5  years!   I am truly done with it!

Nice to see you stop in and celebrate!  Don't be a stranger!  Be a testament!

Congratulations on 5 years!  I don't think it really matters much if you post in blogs or conversations - we can read and comment either place.  I don't use my phone much - so I am not much help there but if you spend some time with it, I am sure that you can learn enough to find your way around.  It is really good to hear from you!

Hello and nice to meet you!  What sort of feathered friend do you have?  I used to have a Quaker parrot, and now just one elderly parakeet.

Sorry for the delay  I have not been on. I had an Indian ringneck (just passed away on the 14th of this month and I'm devastated).  I have a quaker and he is grieving also.  My furry and feathered babies have been my lifesavers.  Keep going strong and remember that you are stronger than the smoke.

Hi Thomas!

I think of you often. You were always the "voice" in my ear early in my quit. I don't crave cigarettes at all anymore but I realize and remember that I am never safe so I continue to protect my quit! It is possible that my memory issue has helped me since I don't remember and don't crave so when I am struggling with life I don't even think about cigarettes. I never thought I would get to that point. Thank you for all you did for me and all you do for everyone. You are more essential than even you realize. Love you lots ♥
