45 Days

Well, it's been 45 days now.  I'm feeling really good about it - it's been a little easier because for the past 45 days, I've also started a new relationship with a non-smoking man - he takes me ice skating - which is great because I now have the lung power.  He has been a godsend - however, I made this decision for myself and am doing it for myself - nobody else.  I also have to give myself credit for making it through 4 weeks of staying with my girlfriend who is a former smoking buddy - I feel stronger since I now know that I can be around smokers (especially my triggers) and stay faithful to my quit.  I made the decision that I would not smoke.  It is a choice that we make - when we are ready.  Once making that decision, even the first 3 days of withdrawal are not that difficult.  And that's the truth. 🙂  Like Jonescarp says, and I also say - just laugh at the cravings - just laugh at our addiction - because we can beat it.

Congrats on 45 days. and the insight. I was bothered by a few cravings, but finished Allen Car's book yesterday and you're right. It's a decision we make and we can be happy about that. I'm not depriving myself of anything, I'm giving myself the best quality of health I'm able to  now that I'm a non-smoker. When I finally was able to understand that things got easier in regards to the nicodemon, the challenge is getting through the ups and downs...the good days are good and now that I have come to realize smoking can't or doesn't make or fix the bad days I understand there is nothing to gain by smoking.

Again, congrats on your 45 days of one day at  a time. You are an inspiration to me on this journey to the best possible health...Thank you. Happy Healing.
