400 Days Quit

In 3 Days I'll be at 400 days without so much as a puff on a cigarette. According to my trusty stat-tracker, had I not quit, I would have in those nearly 400 days, smoked 9,943 cigarettes.

Now if you're reading this, and waiting to hear what an amazing journey it was, how after the initial withdrawal I learned to stop romanticizing the habit and understood that I didn't miss smoking - then go back and read my blog posts.

I came into this quit kicking and screaming and complained for months about how bad it sucked. How unlike everyone else, I was not feeling better long after others did.

I came here, I posted, I (excuse the expression) **bleep** and moaned left and right and waited for someone to say something that would make it easier. But eventually, I got better. One day at a time, all the whole saying that smoking whether I missed it or not, would kill me and it was no longer an option for me. No matter what.

It sucked, until it didn't suck anymore. I quit smoking by not smoking. Those two boys of wisdom are really the only magic of getting through.

Hopefully this helps someone. I always appreciated the "It sucks, do it anyway" advice the most 🙂

And if anyone's wondering, I still think I want one every now and then - probably a couple times a week. It's not so bad, just a thought and slight craving, but even if it was a full blown, skin crawling urge... Smoking is never again an option for me. No matter what.
