Welcome Mrs. Frog.  You have come to the right site for a ton of great support.  First off, read about nicotine addiction on whyquit.com.  You can also read Allen Carrs book on how to quit smoking.  The more educated you are the more successfull you will be in your quit.  After the first 3 days the nicotine is gone from your body and it now is a mind game.  Just take one minute, one hour, one day at a time.  Take not one puff ever and you will have a forever quit.  An urge usually lasts less that 3 minutes.  Congratulations on 4 days.  That is so GREAT!!

good Job on day 4.  The hard part is behind you. I quit with the patch too after 40 years of smoking.  Just keep up the good work, Its still hard to quit with the patch but it will make things easier.

Welcome to the site and congrats on your quit! I also smoked for 40 years - but, I came here, did the reading - the free course at http://quitsmokingonline.com/ and Carr's "Easy Way to Stop Smoking" - also free at - http://media.wix.com/ugd/74fa87_2010cc5496521431188f905b7234a829.pdf - and then I quit! This place is the best for support! So - stay! You can do this!
