Over 4 years? How can that be? It seems like just yesterday I was starting my quit journey. And I started it one second at a time. I couldn't even focus on a minute or an hour then. Quitting was one of the hardest but best decisions I made.

It opened the door for me to choose myself for a change. I was used to being last. Everyone in my life's happiness was more important than my own.

After I quit, I started to quit other things to. I quit saying "I can't". I started trying things I never thought I could. I began to challenge myself in new ways. I began to run, and soon I was running half marathons. Now, I have lost 60 lbs, and I am running my first marathon in October.

I still have the thought. "Well... one won't hurt." I promise you. It will. Repeat after me, "One away from a pack a day". Is it worth it?

Trust me. It never is.

It is perfect timing for you to come out of hiding and blog about your success!   Big congratulations to you on your 4.5 year quit and lost weight too!  Thank you for sharing your story - many here that will benefit from it - including myself.  Stick around!  We need fresh stories here!

So sweet of you to say. I know when I was first here, I needed hope. I cross my fingers that I could give a piece of that hope to someone else.

I know your triumph shared here will encourage another on their path to the freedom you have found.  Isn't the person you found hiding behind that cloud of smoke a wonderful one???!!!

Congratulations on freeing  her and seeing what she can do!!!

Kudos.  I just put you on the /blogs/Giulia-blog/2017/02/22/elders-list-ao-december-7-2016   I don't have the thought "one won't hurt."   My thought is "one WILL hurt."  That's why I don't put one in my mouth.  Stay forever free!
