3 weeks and one day (how I got here)

Some moments are hard, others are actually easy. I do not think about smoking 24/7 anymore - life has evolved and continues evolving.
Sometimes a crave is habitual and I recognize them fairly quickly (which is why I hold a cinammon stick when I talk on the phone - it's about the right size too).

Sometimes a crave is emotional and I recognize those too. For me, it's about doing something to stay with an uncomfortable emotion for the first time and begin to look at why I always needed to avoid it with cigarettes (this is kinda new and the most unfamiliar and uncomfortable part of the process).

Sometimes it's just about doing something to get through the emotion (like taking a walk when I'm angry).

Sometimes it's about doing a combo of the above.

There's no "one way" to get through it - that covers everything. This wan't a quick fix. It took planning before I quit and it takes "paying attention" since the quit.
It also takes an openess to see things differenty, an openess to try new things, and openess to not be perfect about this process and an openess to accept the support from all of you.
And that's what got me to 3 weeks and one day of not smoking
