29 toe the line

Hi everyone! I didn't blog yesterday...felt horrible...stayed in bed...did not turn on the computer...fed and walked the dog and that is about it...nothing is wrong...just feeling exhausted and BLUE...I am just grateful to be free...I don't even like saying 'smokefree' anymore...just FREE...

I'm know I need to start exercising to get to the other side of this...so far unable to start...sciatica flare today makes starting impossible...how convenient!! This feels like that 'empty' feeling Alan Carr talks about in his book and I know it requires action of some sort. I am living proof of the law of physics "that which is in motion tends to stay in motion, that which is at rest tends to stay at rest" the law of inertia...xo

TOE THE LINE: The specific sport referred to is foot-racing, where the competitors must keep their feet behind a "line" or on a "mark" at the start of the race--as in "On your mark, get set, go!"

Ss when will I embark beyond this 'start line'...

Joy!  I'm so sorry you are feeling blue and uninspired.  I know that feeling.  It's okay to take a day or two to just cocoon.  You are allowed.  What is the treatment for sciatica?

I am prescribing the following for you:  stay on the couch today, watch TLC (preferably "Say Yes to The Dress", but no "Honey Boo Boo"), and order a pizza.  THAT should help!

When you are ready to exercise, make it something fun. Going to the gym can feel too much like work. Playing a game of volleyball or other physical game is much more fun.

Like Sky said, cocoon today and let that sciatica subside.

Big Hugs!

Joy, I'm with you...I quit counting.  Well, not quit counting but I'm not saying to myself "today is day #xx without a cigarette" anymore.  I want to be like you, FREE.  Just want to tell people I'm an EX versus telling them I quit 18 days ago.

Gotta say, I love Sky's plan for the day 🙂

Keep on hanging on...WE'RE going to do this together...once and for all!

Luvs!!! I was just thinking about you and left a message on your board...I am totally into what day I'm on...each one is such a miracle to me!!!! I don't like including 'smoke' in my spoken words anymore unless it refers to something coming out of a chimney that is not me....FREE it is...so glad to hear from you!!! xo

Hello my Dear, yes, just because we stopped smoking doesn't mean that life will be less stressful or any easier, BUT we all must do some 'cocooning' before we can become a butterfly....(only 1 slice of pizza,BTW) and TLC...order a present online!  ♥     img alt="" src="" />

Life IS less stressful and easier because I am no longer so busy obsessed about quitting smoking and I've got the much coveted and longed for time back  and yet I feel a bit paralyzed...By the way I feel this is a quality problem and thank you for the cocooning advice! I will relax and enjoy today...thank you my dearest friends!!! xo

Joy, You're allowed to float for a day or two!!!  But after that, get your butt up!!!  I've had one of those days, too.  Nasty news at my breast cancer follow-up appointment.  But, sure as heck, I'll choose to "stay free" also.  I'm with you, girlfriend.  Luv, Deb.

Joy and DebR, hope tomorrow will be a better day. I've got 22 days and counting. Grateful for each one.N.O.P.E.  Not one puff ever. We've got to get with the program.

Both of you float for a while and I'll float too.  Love ya, Candy

My late AA sponsor used to say,"Stay on the pity pot for ten minutes. That's all you're allowed. Then do something productive." Joy, at least you fed and walked your dog. That was productive for you both.

Nothing wrong with an occasional couch/bed day.  I think Nancy is being a bit strict with only one slice of pizza though.  No more than 5.  Do it to it tomorrow!  Everything is better with a new day

Yes, I remember feeling exactly like that.  And it did last for more than one day.  The good news is...........this too shall pass.

I remember complaining to my Doc that I just could NOT make myself get on that treadmill and do any exercise.  I just did not feel like it.  She told me

EFFORT CREATES ENERGY.  She said can you get on it for 5 minutes?  Yes.

Well then just exercise for 5 minutes.  And so I forced myself to start.  Baby steps.  This summer I was addicted to hiking 30 to 60 minutes almost every single day.

Don't be too hard on yourself.  Your greatest accomplishment for the day is to remain

FREE!!
