I know you should work up to the quit day, but I find that I am the sort of person that says, I will start tomorrow or next week... that tomorrow or next week never comes.

Anyways I have been smoking since I was 19 (am 25 now), and have always been in school which has been my excuse for not being able to quit.  "I want to succeed in school, and if I dont smoke the stress will kill me... blah blah bullshit".

Well, yesterday morning I woke up, saw I only had 4 cigarettes left, and thought to myself... I am going to quit.  So I drove to Target, got step-1 patches (and some other stuff), and finished those last cigarettes.

I officially quit at 1:05 PM on April 16, 2011.  I really hope this is the real thing.  I feel good about it, I am allowing myself to believe the benefits of quitting and the hazards that come with smoking.  I even have a really stressful difficult take home quiz due tomorrow, but I am going to beat the stress without cigarettes and kick this quizzes ass!
