20 days with out a puff

I'm so excited that I've gone 20 days without one puff.  I've never gone this long before.  I was going to change to Step 2 of the patch yesterday.  I had some step 1 left so I decided to cut them in half.  So for two days I've been on 10.5 mg. rather than 14 mg.  which is the amount in step 2.  My goal is to be completely off the patch by May 1st.

Sounds like you are doing great! I used the  patch  when I started my  quit. I was down to the final step after  about a month. It is of course up to you, and it sounds like you are well-organized, and have a good plan.

I used the patch for 10 of my first 14 days. Some days I forgot and just learned that is was all a big head game from those days.

I believe the patch is to take the stress of the physical withdrawal away while you learn about the psycholical of when any why you smoke.

Once I understood that, (the third day I quit) I thought of the patch as a security blanket.

You can't give it too much power, you are the one doing the work.

the directions say to throw away patches that are cut, I'm not sure why though....  I think it has to do with the time release..
