Hello support world!!! I'm counting down the days until my quit date which is December 24, 2011. The reason I chose this date was because I'd really like to spend my holidays smoke free. I also found it hard to quit on New Years Eve, stating that my resolution would be to quit. So if I start on the 24th it would be a present to myself....the gift of a life without smoking!!!!

Congratulations on setting your quit date.  It is a great gift to yourself.  How much preparation have you done to get ready for your quit?  Reading a lot helps very much.  Click on my name and it will take you to my page where there are good links.  If you can, please read Allen Carr's free ebook.

Quitting smoking is always a gift to yourself no matter what time of the year, I do like you not doing it on New Year"s Eve though! Too much drinking that night and by the time morning comes most of us forget what the heck we did the night before let alone any resolutions!

Welcome Kristen!  So glad you made it to the blogs!  Wow, you're so young and making this decision now is truly the absolute best thing you'll ever do for yourself.  Ask any one of us older Exer's and we would all love tohave  quit at your age.

Quitting is doable and even if your roomies still smoke, you can do it.

Learn everything you can about the addiction, read like crazy.  Your mindset will change about smoking and you'll soon see that when you quit you won't HAVE to smoke anymore like your roomies.  You'll be free!  Trust the process, trust us.  Be here on Ex as much as you can.  Blog at least daily and let us know how you're doing.

We have success here and you can too!
