Hi All ~ I wasn't around to proclaim 6 months on Friday...but I am back today to proclaim 183 days of being smoke free!! I encountered some first time triggers over the weekend. We took our daughter to college, Freshman, big doings. She's going to Cornell which is about 7 hours from us. So this was my first venture in a car for that long of a time without a butt....and what can I say...it was a piece of cake! The addict would visit once in a while and say "hey', long drive, need a smoke" I would respond.."you don't get it I quit 6 months ago"! He'd slink a way! LOL...it really is that easy. On Sat my wife and I then took a 3 hour jaunt to Niagara falls while our daughter was in a seminar. This was cool as it has been on my bucket list to see. So that was cool (profile pic has the falls behind me).
For those who've been following, my bod is recovering...in sports terms I'd say I'm 85% now....probably couldn't take a hit, then again I haven't met anyone in a while who wants to hit me! LOL
Thanks for all your support. Any new folks my advice is learn about your addiction (here, whyquit dot com, and allen carr), after that just accept the fact that you're an addict (you are, and we all are), then make your plan, pick your date, and execute your plan and embrace it,,,it's your choice....you own it, the addict doesn't own you. It's that easy,,,really is....so here I am at 183 day after a pack a day for 30 years...and lov'n it! NOPE & NEF!!
