|| 6 months || For those of you that are a few days, or maybe a few weeks in, remember - this fight is to be taken one day at a time - before you know it you will be crossing the month line, then 50 days, joining the TDC, exiting "no-man's land" and savoring everyday free, no longer a slave to the addiction. The last blog I shared was at day 35 and every single one of those words still ring true today. This isn't about luck, or hope, or trying. This about digging your heels in, recognizing the addiction for what it is, and then spitting in it's face and declaring that you will no longer be a slave - proclaiming that you will no longer be making the payments on your long term suicide plan. No one said it will be easy, but likewise, no one said you have to do this alone either. I don't contribute often, but I read a lot, and I can say that the amount of support and encouragement that is available here is astounding. Drink it in. If you are here, and WANT freedom, you have all of the resources and support you could possibly hope for. Embrace it. Choose to live again.

6 months, Great Job! Thanks for posting, I am coming up on 150 days and I can tell you it does get easier and easier. Don't get me wrong I still and will always protect my quit, I sometimes find myself thinking about when I smoked and how I felt and the overall 40 year love affair I had with cigarettes. It doesn't go away overnight but it sure does feel good knowing that I don't need it to live.

6 months....you have uit licked now..its all down hill from here. Do not ever CHOOSE to pick up cigarettes again. If you ever get weak, just think of how much you suffered trying to quit. You have done an excellent job! Im proud of you!

It's about slamming your fist on the counter and yelling NO NO NO!!!!!  to the cravings and memories of the addiction. It's the ONLY way to beat it....and beat it we do with preserverence!
