17 month update

Next week will be my 17 month anniversary of being smoke free.  Just wanted to give an update and hope it helps those of you struggling.  I gained 24 pounds when I quit smoking.  I had decided when I quit that I would not let my weight influence my quit.  When I reached my 1 year mark, I then decided I was safe enough in my quit to work on my weight.  Five months of working on my weight and I have managed to lose 8 pounds. Just a little over 1 pound per month. Ugh!  But at least I am losing, oh so very slowly, and not gaining anymore. At this rate I will be back to my original weight in a year and a half, lol. Oh well, a year and a half will go by anyway and this way I will be 18 pounds slimmer by then.

To everyone struggling, hang in there.  You will love being free of the nicotine addiction.  Your weight can be addressed later. It is not important right now.
