14 Day Itch!

Today is challenging my resolve. I am on my 14th day. Everything is getting under my skin, even things that should not be a big deal. I am scratching that 14 day itch by sharing here that I am having a slightly difficult time changing my mood back to positive. There are so many things I can do that are not smoking. I am sitting and thinking of what the next few hours will look like. I am making a plan to go outside for a quick run/ walk. I will bag some leaves for a time and perhaps watch some football. Let’s see where that leads! Thank you for the space to vent. I made a plan to quit, no I have a plan to scratch this itch and stay smoke free today!

You're right.  Get moving--go for a walk, rake those leaves, etc.  You're thoughts will change direction.  Glad you came to the site--just those few moments can make a difference.  Be proud with 14 days of success.  You've proven to yourself that you can do this!!!!

Move forward.

Badmmd So happy you came here to vent...and you are thinking of a plan for walking and getting outside...this will help...honestly when I had those days and worked hard through the “itch”...the next day was better, hang in there...and you can always do a few of these...Colleen 720 DOF

If you made it to Day 14, you can make it all the way.  Hang in there.  Copious advice on this site and around the web.

Great idea to come here & vent. 14 days means you have completed Hell Week & now Heck Week. Stay vigilant, plan things to keep busy & check in if you run into trouble.

I allowed myself to slip! I was 19 Days in, and now I need a few ideas to reset myself.

There's usually a reason or stress that got us there.

Have you started a new quit?

The key word is allowed.  It's not easy, but you have to stick to your plan for this happen.   Review your plan and identify where you went wrong.   What tools have you identified to use instead of smoking?    It's so important to create new associations instead of smoking. Coming here shows you are committed--so don't wait.  Get right back on track.

And remember, reach out before you smoke.  That's how it works.   It saved my quit early on several times.   We're here for you and want you to be successful.

One day at a time!

The slip came from unexpected unplanned time with nothing to do but make excuses. You are right I should reach out here. I should have told my wife what I was thinking! Thanks Barbscloud

Everybody is different. We can tell you a lot of things to remain free.  The idea is to work with the ones that work for you./blogs/JACKIE1-25-15-blog/2016/11/18/plan-prepare-practice-to-protect?sr=search&searchId=b311f3f3-5a...  https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/groups/newbie-quitters/blog/2017/10/01/plan-prepare-practice-to-p... Sometimes it is a matter of changing your lifestyle of people places and things.  You have to change the way you think. Self talk works start by saying "i don't do that anymore"  It is whats between the ears. You decide the priority.

It's easier to not smoke and Keep Them Away From Your Face

if you don't have any around..
