104 days

It has been 104 days since I quit using nicotine. I feel great. The first 50 were some of the worst days I have experienced in my life, but Im glad that when I told myself, "It'll get better", I wasn't lying. I started my diet 2 days ago and so far, so good. When I first quit I went on quite the eating the spree, and It feels good to reign that in. The major turning point in my quit was after speaking to my doctor about how terrible I felt all day. He prescribed Wellbutrin and it has been all uphill since then. I feel better than before I started smoking. However, I still have nostalgic thoughts about smoking. Especially since it's getting warmer here. I remember being 16 smoking a cigarette on the back porch with my buddies, just talking crap. Something about those days. Anyway, I get great relief from my jog and sitting on the front porch focusing on breathing. The savings are adding up, and my attitude is more optimistic than ever

104 Days of Freedom is super Gergzz .... You are doing great...and glad the Wellbutrin is helping you.  Honestly, the first year quit is constantly making new memories in place of smoking.  Sometimes in the beginning you will have to avoid these situations, but the best thing is to create a new memory or space.  I couldn’t go out on my back deck after I cleaned it last spring and set up for the summer.  All I thought of was smoking and having a cocktail at the end of the day.  It was so hard...I just didn’t do it and then later in the summer, I sat out a little bit at a time with no cocktail....feeling the uncomfortable until I felt more comfortable, it took time...I can tell you at 549 Days free....this Spring, no problem, I can cook on deck, read my book, have a cocktail and don’t relate it to smoking...when that old feeling comes to mind, I remind myself I don’t do that anymore....hang tough ... because it will happen, like everything in this journey, baby steps....Happy Thursday....~ Colleen 549 DOF

You're doing fine 100 plus days is great.  You will be experiencing a lot of first without smoking.   Your first 4th July, Memorial Day Weekend, Thanksgiving, Christmas  you get the idea.    Colleen right you will make new memories being smoke free   You will be able to enjoy the old places and memories I use to drink, smoke, party grill out on my back porch with my friends and neighbors.  I still go out on the porch and drink my coffee in the morning  I still go out and have my friends and neighbors over and grill out, Just not as often as time is catching up to us.   We even talk about the good old times and a few sad old times  but the great thing our memories have nothing to do with smoking cigarettes it had  to do with us

Continue to stay optimistic and keep the attitude  You'll be fine

Big congrats on 104 days nicotine free.   I was the same with my deck.  I couldn't spend much time there the first summer of my quit.  Now I can, but sometimes there are still memories of smoking there!   Glad that you're feeling better and the Welbutrin helped.  Keeping busy really helped me a lot.  Keep moving forward.

Welcome to the TDC Triple Digit Club! (+4)!  CONGRATULATIONS!

Here is a blog I wrote about your smoking remembrances:  /blogs/Youngatheart.7.4.12-blog/2016/04/29/romancing-the-cigarette.

Please be mindful that you will still need to get through two years of the seasons changing, holidays, vacations, family dramas before those smoking thoughts will be replaced with new, nonsmoking experiences.  These are just passing thoughts and easy to get past, but  don't be surprised at or concerned about them.

You are doing this!  Cool, huh?!!!
