yesterday I had one cig. I am hacking up thick yellow stuff i hurst a lot. I got sick 2 days ago. my hole body hurts. I feel tired and week. I plan not to smoke today. I have to go to work and make it through the day. I do not know what is sickness and whait is beacuse I feel to bad to smoke. I told God thank you for giving me a preview of the pain I would have if I stayed a smoker. I talked to a nurse she said as long as the stuff dose not turn green I am ok and do not need a dr for this cold or what ever it is. I started that book that i was told about but i feel so bad i can only get through one page at a time.

If you are down to one cigarette a day, it is time to QUIT.  Continuing to smoke that little does nothing but make it more difficult for you by keeping you in constant withdrawal.

In reviewing your past blogs and responses, it appears you have fallen through the proverbial crack when it comes to our usual welcome ----- so I hope to make it up to you:

Welcome to our community!

The most important thing you can do to start is to educate yourself on what nicotine does to your mind and body. To that end, I highly recommend Allen Carr's “The Easy Way to Stop Smoking.” This is an easy and entertaining read. Here is a link to a free PDF version or it:

As well, read the sections on this site, do the tracking and separation exercises, and read the blogs, responses and pages of folks you think might be helpful. You might also want to visit quitsmokingonline.com, and whyquit.com.

The idea is to distract yourself through the cravings.  Don't let that thought rattle around in your head alone!  A crave will last about three minutes whether you smoke or not.  Go for a brisk walk, march in place, do a few jumping jacks, clean a drawer, do a crossword puzzle, play a computer game..........there are blogs with lists of 114 things to do instead of smoke on my page.  The conversation in your head CANNOT be:  "I want a cigarette.  No!  But - I WANT a cigarette.  NO!"  Instead, it needs to be "I want a cigarette.  Well, since I have decided not to do that anymore, what shall I do instead for the three minutes this crave will last?"  Then DO it!

Stay close to us here and ask for advice and support as you need it. We all here want to help you be successful!

You are only torturing yourself by smoking a few....because you are in a constant state of withdrawal. I say - go ahead and quit! Oh - and keep reading! Plus - feel better soon!
