1 year anniversary of a smoke free life

I never thought that I could live without cigarettes. Through the help of this program, prayer and non-smoking friends, I made it one complete year. The cravings get further apart and now I make better choices when faced with the urge. In the past when I was a smoker, if I ran out of cigs at 2:00am, in the cold of winter and had to get dressed, I grudingly got out of bed and went to a convienance store and got what I thought was relief. It was hard until I changed my thought process and wanted health, to smell good, save money and to be smoke free more than I wanted my next cigarette or pack. This was my 4th or 5th serious attempt but I had to avoid triggers. Oh and by the way this month is also my 17th year anniversary of being free from drugs and alcohol. What a blessing to be relieved of my last bad habit, smoking. Thanks; BecomeAnEx.org for planting the seed that let me know that I could quit smoking cigarettes by following some simple daily steps and having your support.

Congratulations on one year of smoke free, and equally as impressive 17 years free of drugs and alcohol, good on you!! April 14 will be 17 years for me , alcohol free. I want to be in your shoes, and have no more addictions. My hat is off to you.For some reason, quitting cigs seems to me more frightful. Wasnt 1993 a horrid year??PHEW, glad I made it thru that, I was facing a felony ,next time I got arrested for DUI.
