Any suggestions for exercising,?

I'm in my early 60s I've stopped vaping and I walked my dog and I'm walking about a mile a day. I broke my hip in 2018 and I shattered my foot in four places in 2008, and when I broke my hip I also got a compressed fracture in my back. I'm only mentioning these things because I am kind of limited in some of the exercises to do or suggestions to keep my mind off of vaping and also to keep healthy. It seems like last post were in 2018 to 19.

There is also a cycle version of the machine in the reply above that goes on the floor.  You can use it when watching TV, so boredom isn't too bad.   I think walking outside is one of the best things to do when you are quitting.  I find even a block or two several times a day is great.

You can do an internet search for exercises for seniors that aren't too strenuous.  I like this one for arms:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyaX-TpBifY and this one: Chair Yoga with Adriene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ts01MC2mIo.

Just be sure to start anything with just a few repetitions!  You will be using things differently than you do in your normal daily life.  You won't really feel the effects of overdoing it for several days - so don't do full out to start!

As mentioned above by @YoungAtHeart re the cycle version , just for information , you can do one or the other or both on just the one machine .
I see the 100 101 things to do is on the site today , ( guess I should read the site before I post lol )  @YoungAtHeart  sorry , didn’t see them .. they are on not once but twice I see lol . I highly recommend printing it or bookmarking it for easy quick reference when your head is in an addiction head space when you can’t think . Foggy brain is a symptom common of quitting . It will pass but writing things down can be helpful .

Wanted to add!  When I am stuck inside, I do toe touches, jumping jack motions (I don't do the jumping part), sit/stands from a chair, wall push-ups, marching in place with arms swinging.  Any of  those is a good crave buster, too!

You can also look into vibration therapy https://lifeprofitness.com/collections/vibration-therapy.  It really helps at all levels, especially if you have had problems with your hips etc.  The vibration works the muscles at 20-30 contractions per minute - that's a lot!  Just standing on it will help.  I have a vibration plate and it's a great addition to my workouts.  I would also suggest a TRX but if you don't know how to use it, it can be hard.  Finally, there are personal trainers that are very well-versed on mobility features.  I always say that it's important to incorporate strength training beyond just walking because it prevents injuries in the future, not to say that walking is not great - it's wonderful!  Chair yoga sounds like a good place to start and if you want to get a vibration plate in the future, then that would be an option for you x

For everyone!  I found the arm exercise guy's routine for legs. I pull it up on the laptop and mute it so he's quiet!   I like his stuff.

I use light yoga, bands for legs and glutes (this will definitely tone your side hip muscle (actually made mine stop popping which hurts). Swimming for joints and definitely supplements. I did 1 round of good physical therapy on my lower back and body, which made a huge difference prior to exercising. I do recommend a doctor’s advice because you have to make sure of the exercise you can do.
