Why am I not able to @mention certain people?

Jump to solution

I thought this would be easy but I can't seem to "@ Mention" people.  When I hit the @ Mention symbol, a list of names and places pop but it is never the person I want to mention.  So I continue to type their username hoping it will pop up.  It never does. What am I doing wrong?

I have the problem even when there is no underscore in their name sometimes I have to keep starting g over and eventually it will work sometimes I just give up !

bonniebee‌ Can you give me examples of people who don't work? I find that typing slowly usually gives me the best results.

Are you on a computer, tablet or phone when attempting to @mention them?

Hey, any kind of a "hint" like "IF YOU SIGN UP WITH AN UNDERSCORE IN YOUR USERNAME YOUR ENTIRE ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED AS WILL YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT AND ANY AND ALL ONLINE BANKING ACCOUNTS THE FIRST TIME YOU SIGN INTO EX WITH IT - SO DON'T!"  Sounds good to me!  (And for all who are wondering - yes, this is a joke!)

because they are unmentionable

Maybe you'll want to shorten your username now?

Excellent.  Now if we could just be able to @mark YOU, that would solve all our problems!

Yup, well, at least if I just put in the @ symbol all by itself, you are the first to pop up on the list.

@ =

I don't know if the last "at" mention is held in cache or what, but that's what pops up when I put in the @ symbol.  When I put in @mark I still get...

@mark
