Tagging old posts

Just learned about the tagging function.

Can you add tags to old posts?  If so, will it treat the change as a typical edit and send notifications to everyone on the thread?  That's not something I would be interested in doing, so it's important to know.

You can tag old posts.  I recommend only Two to three tags at most. Look at best practices document below. 

You can only edit your posts tags.  And nope it doesn’t send notifications.
