Ok, that sounds more like the issue.  I have been a victim of that before, but when I would be giving a crazy schedule, I would look at and say, this is going to be perfect for me

It sucks being the new person, but it was always my goal, when I started a new job, to put myself in the position where they needed me more than I needed them.  I would do whatever until they became dependent on me, then I would start to dictate my terms.  Worked most of the time
