First of all congratulations on the best decision that you'll ever make in your lifetime and secondly congrats on your Day WON!  Most of us in the early stages of quitting smoking had some sleep disturbances which is normal, I never got the cough but I know others here have and will go away too. There should be others commenting here before too long, actually I'll tag JonesCarpeDiem because he'll share some links with you, he's way more tech savvy than I am, stick close to this site because we're all here for you and your precious quit.

Lack of sleep is normal for many. You have to grab it when you can You should probably go get an assessment of your breathing. The burning sensation may be reflux. You need to get it checked out. I didn't know I had it and did a lot of damage. https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/blogs/jonescarp.aka.dale.Jan_2007-blog/2011/06/26/what-to-expect-...

Welcome!  Disrupted sleep patterns and a cough are normal side effects for some.  I never experienced any, but do know of others who have.  They should pass with time.  Melatonin is an over the counter drug that can assist with getting to sleep, but won't necessarily keep you there.  If you're taking other meds, it's best to ask a doc about usage.    Not sure about the burning sensation in the chest.  I felt an emptiness, a deep yearning, a tightness in my solar plexus.  But that was my craving sensation.  You say you don't crave at the moment.  GOOD!  If it persists have it checked out.  And congratulations on Day 2!!!!!

Come on Jamie, you can get through this.  Just get through this one day.  You're not going to die of a craving.  It's just an uncomfortable feeling.  BREATHE through it.  Drink some water.  I found green tea helped.  Just read recently the following - which may help.  Don't know.  Could just be a wive's tale.  "In addition to pulling nicotine right from your body, some say cream of tartar actually makes you dislike the taste of cigarettes altogether. For people trying to quit smoking, cream of tartar typically works when mixed with orange juice – specifically the not from concentrate kind.

1. Add 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar into a glass.2. Fill the glass with 8 ounces (240 milliliters) of orange juice.3. Stir it with a spoon to dissolve the cream of tartar.4. Drink it before you go to bed.5. Repeat nightly for 7 to 21 days.

Purchase cream of tartar. You will be required to use 1 tsp. (4.92 milliliters) of cream of tartar daily for between 7 and 21 days until the nicotine is flushed from your body. You can purchase cream of tartar in as little as 1.5 oz. (42.52 g) jars, which equates to 9 tsp. (44.36 milliliters). If you think you may need more than 9 days to quit smoking, you may want to purchase a larger container of cream of tartar.Buy cream of tartar in its most natural form. Organic or natural cream of tartar will be the healthiest options to help you quit smoking, as some manufacturers may add chemicals such as preservatives to cream of tartar.

Purchase orange juice. You will be required to mix the tartar sauce with 8 oz. (226.79 g) of orange juice on a daily basis for the duration of your treatment.Buy organic or all-natural orange juice that is not made from concentrate. Concentrated orange juice or processed orange juice will not contain the amount of nutrients your body needs during the natural detoxification process. You may need to return to your local grocery store more than once during your treatment to replenish your supply of fresh orange juice.

You may add a few drops of warm water to the cream of tartar powder before adding the orange juice to help the powder dissolve.

Drink the cream of tartar and orange juice mixture nightly before going to bed. Drinking the mixture before bedtime will help your body detoxify more efficiently since your metabolism is slower while you sleep.Continue to drink the cream of tartar and orange juice mixture until you no longer crave nicotine. The treatment may take between 7 and 21 days depending on the amount of nicotine you smoked previously on a daily basis."

Jamie, Exercise will help you immensely, it will release dopamine and help you to get through craves. It will also help to tire you out and maybe you can get some sleep and sleep through some craves.   Bite into a lemon, rind and all, get some really sour candy to suck on or some really hot candy, like fireballs.  No crave ever killed anyone but no one can say that about smoking.  Craves only last a couple of minutes, it's just that at the beginning, they seem to come on top of each other.  You WILL get through this and it WILL get easier.

I will be really interested to hear how the cream of tartar and orange juice work.  It sure is worth a try.  We are here for you...stay close to the site.

We can't diagnose you. Your breathing problems and burning need to be examined by a dr.
