My second time quitting as a heavy smoker of 12 cumulative years.
I've been tobacco free all day. I smoked a pack of Newports per day, then transitioned to chewing tobacco/dip for about a week. Wow. I really enjoyed using Grizzly dip, although it was quite unattractive. Yesterday, my nicotine patches came in the mail so I have no need for the mouth tobacco. I will miss it though.
The patches were effective the first time I quit. I only quit the first time because I was pregnant, which is why I began smoking again after having my child.
It's been a year now, and I've decided to quit for my child and myself this time. I'll be successful. I won't start smoking or dipping again.
