Spring has Arrived.

Wow, what a beautiful day!

I do not know about where you live, but spring has arrived here on the Freedom Park Playground.  It feels so good to feel the sun on my face, and to be able to run through the warm grass with no shoes.  I am not sure how I survive the winter without feeling the soft turf on the soles of my feet.  I feel like I could run forever.

There is just too much I want to do.  Should I start at the sandbox, or play hide and seek in the woods?  Maybe catch frogs at the pond?  Oh boy, a game of Red Rover is starting over there!  And the air is also fresh and new!  I can smell the lilacs.  And the smell of fresh dirt.  Oh, and I can smell that someone is starting a grill.  Hot Dogs for lunch everyone!  So many wonderful smells. So many things to do.  So much energy flowing through me, and I want to do it all.

And I can.  I don’t smoke anymore.  I have so much more energy!  I can smell things so much better.  I don’t have to sneak off in the middle of an inning to smoke.  I don’t need to wonder where to put my cigarettes to keep them dry when I go swimming.  I just don’t have the weight of smoking on my mind.

And I also have so many new friends here at the playground.  And more join every day.  Can life get any better than this?  I don’t think so.  Well, I am off to play Red Rover.  Come on and join me, and afterwards, I know someone who always has popsicles in her freezer.

Spring and smoke free!  What a perfect match!

I am 64 now. Living, breathing, keeping busy, but yet...failing. It is time to stop failing, at least when it comes to quitting smoking.
