Tough week on the Playground

Seems like a lot was happening on the playground this week.  But through all of it, the community came together.  There was a group over by the slide, talking about how sad it is when bad things happen, and how much we care about the people they happen to.  Lots of tears by the slide, but that is okay.  It is stainless steel and won’t rust.

Another group is in the sandbox.  The caravan master came to visit, and talk to those who are struggling through the desert of NML. It was good to see him, and he really helped.  His camel, though, left a few surprises in the sandbox, and I need to find a big enough pooper scooper to take care of that. Funny how dwwms leaves town right as that happens!

Another group is by the entrance, talking to a few people who got pushed around by that bully Nicotine.  They are kind of part way in the playground and part way out.  A lot of the kids are there trying to talk them into coming back in, and staying in.  But they have to decide for themselves.  That has not kept new people from coming and joining us on the playground and beginning their quit.  The playground keeps getting bigger!

But we are fighting through all of it together.  That is why we are here.  And all the problems are important.  Time and time again, I have seen elders race from the slide where they are giving comfort to the jungle gym, where someone almost fell, to the swings to give under ducks. Through all this they are watching the merry go round because a new person is on it, and they want to make sure they don’t fall down.

And no, it isn’t just the elders.  We all help.

But this Blog is just a special “Thank you” to the Elders for all they have done, and continue to do.

Thank you; I would not be quit without you!

I am 64 now. Living, breathing, keeping busy, but yet...failing. It is time to stop failing, at least when it comes to quitting smoking.
