I want the flu!

My mother got the flu last week.  She got it from my father, and even though he was feeling a bit better, I needed to take her to the ER, because he no longer drives. They gave her an IV of fluids.  She felt much better. My wife also got the flu last week, most likely from the kids at her school (the teachers always blame the kids for everything).

So I was thinking.  Would it be so bad to have the flu for one day?  Maybe even a ½ day?  What will one little virus do anyway?  Everyone else is doing it!

I woke at 3 AM with a desperate need to use the bathroom.  And I have needed to use it every ½ since.  And today is not a day I can miss work!

Yes, I have the flu, and in my weird brain I compare it to smoking.  No one in their right mind would want the Flu.  Or all the Crap that comes with smoking! Are we nuts?  How stupid was I to want that?

An yes, I would rather have the flu than any nicotine ever!

I am 64 now. Living, breathing, keeping busy, but yet...failing. It is time to stop failing, at least when it comes to quitting smoking.
