Quitting Smoking and Drinking Alcohol - A Haiku

If you decide to go drink

Be ready to fail

Your judgment is not FOOLproof

Even in a pandemic, the weekends are for some R & R.  If you are quitting smoking, that just should not include imbibing in alcohol.  it impairs your ability to think clearly and may cause you to believe "just one won't hurt."  Take my word for it - it always will.  You may not go back to being a full-time smoker right away, but 10 out of 10 times, you will eventually.  That's just how addition works.  Even those with long term quits need to be mindful and not over indulge.

Please just don't.  A quit is a terrible thing to lose.

I smoked until a vascular surgeon informed me of the damage I had done to myself by doing so. I quit 11 years ago, and I can swim laps virtually FOREVER now, walk most other days 40 minutes to an hour and a half. What a difference quitting has made in my life! I strive to help others find this wonderful freedom from addiction, too.
