I have been a smoker now for 22 years. I also a very heavy smoker during this time. Recently there have been a major life events that has made me more motivated to quit then ever. I am about to become a father for the first time at 40. Yay!
Although this is a great motivator in the last 2 months I have quit cold turkey 3 times. Each time I get to Day 4 and then collapse. I registered on this site and already I have been so inspired by reading everyones posts. I can really relate to everyones experiences and advice.
I find it hard to share as a guy and just shy I guess but I have decided that this attempt I am going to participate in this program. Thanks for all your posts and to my fellow new quitters, I would like to send out encouragement and hope.
Thanks
Verghese
Welcome to Ex. You have a mighty big motivation to quit so stick with it. Caving at day 4 is a classic addiction fold if you ask me. Understandable, but now that you are a part of this support community, you've got tools to get past the addiction trap.
Keep learning about the addiction. Keep building your smobriety stronger and stronger. Yes you can one day at a time.
