My name is Susan I prefer Suzy
I want to quit for several reasons, I have had real nasty habits in my past and was able to quit cold. Tobacco is by far testing my will power. Its a mind thing for me ... I believe.
Having several cancers fought and still fighting ... Not one being lung cancer ... I would love to prevent that. I have other complicated health issues as well ....
Saying to myself ... "Oh I'll quit today" or " I'll quit for so an so" ... That has never worked for me before ...
I have learned in time if its not for me first ... Well, then it just won't work out.
So here I am working on me ... For once ... Its my turn ...
Welcome to the Ex. SusanPerry85 It's great to see that you've already reached out to help another quitter. Helping others is a great way to help with our own quits. What led to my success finally after 50 years of smoking was understanding nicotine addiction and having a quit plan. I did the same thing. I'd pick at date to quit, probably 7 in all, but didn't understand what quitting was all about. There is work involved and I never did the work required to be successful. Decide if you want to use an aid and read everything you can on this site to educate yourself. Create a plan and begin your journey.
We're here to support you. That support has made quitting possible for many.
