Our daughter, paid us a surprised visit today. She had the day off and lives
about 30 minutes away from us. She brought us fresh yeast donuts from the new bakery in her community. A really nice treat....Even brought her Mom, her favorite a Chocolate frosted Barvarian Creme Bismarck! It was Delicious and we will not figure out, how many calories!!!!!! ( I used to work in a commerical bakery. Before that, my Mother-in-law taught me how to make yeast donuts of all kinds. So our 2 kids grew up having those made around home. I don't do it anymore........ Anyway, back to my Sharing.)
She came to see us today, as tomorrow is our 45th. wedding anniversary. She brought us a little gift bag. A bottle of Italian Wine, some sea salt caramels for her Dad and some Irish Cream Latte Mix for me. We will wait to open the card tomorrow. She figured her Dad would take me somewhere for supper.
Anyway, we were talking about aging and weight. (Her speciality in nursing is geratrics. She is the DON at the Nursing Home in her community,also a wife of a rancher and farmer.) Her Dad admitted to gaining 10 lbs. this past winter. He has always been able to eat anything and everything and stay the same.... I keep telling him, he has slowed down and either has to exercise or change some of his snacking habits. I told her, I had gained back all the back fat, I worked off this past winter. I was real unhappy about it. She ask, how did that happen????????? I TOLD HER, I QUIT SMOKING! SHE SAID, WHEN???? I TOLD HER FEB. 5,2018!!!!!!!
I CAN'T BEGIN TO SAY HOW HAPPY SHE WAS! THE 1ST. WORDS OUT OF HER MOUTH WERE ACTUALLY....."THAT IS FABULOUS!!!" NOW SHE HAS BOTH HER HUSBAND AND HER MOM AS NON-SMOKERS!!!!! SHE HAS ALWAYS HATED IT!!!!! I felt so good about myself. Even more
determined that this Quitting Journey is my last attempt to Quit! I will maintain this for whatever time, God gives me to stay in this world......
Even with the issues that are POPPING UP in NO MAN'S LAND.... I am
still thrilled that I quit! I breathe better,my sinuses are better,my mouth is fresh, my hair smells clean. My clothes are fresh smelling.....I'm going to start that kitty jar with the money, I would spend on Tobacco.... Do something FUN with it.....TODAY MADE MY WHOLE MONTH OF APRIL!!!!!
TOMORROW, IS MY 68th. day of Freedom,my 45 th. wedding anniversary and my hubby will be 68 on Oct. 5th. My DOB is also 5th. My Quit date is Feb. 5th....... So,I think, this old gal, will Remember these things Forever....
