You can succeed but you need to believe it

Once I finally decided to quit smoking and actually made it through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep without ripping anyone's face off during the horrific craves or jumping in my car to buy a carton of cigarettes instead of just a pk, I'll tell you the reason why I didn't do either of those things mind you there were many times in those first few weeks that I'd be laughing one moment and blatting like a baby the next but thankfully with this quit I was determined that I was going to succeed so almost a month before quitting I found this site and educated myself on this crazy addiction and read everything I could about quitting smoking and remaining quit so I set up a quit date but I wasn't ready so I reset it and the night before quitting I promised myself that no matter what is happening in life that I'd never pick up another cigarette and then I totally forgot about this site until on my  18th day when I was soooooo stressed out that I was going to scream and tear all my hair out but whew! then I remembered this site and logged on and commented on something I believe it was moody_9-18-13 that suggested that I write a blog and say a little about myself and so I did and here I am and up until that point I'd been lurking in the shadows and hadn't let myself be known but I'm so glad that I found this awesome community of friends and Fellow Exers because I consider all of you my EXtended family. Quitting smoking is absolutely difficult by any stretch of the imagination but it's also very Doable and so very worth it to be Free and anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do for your health family and friends but especially your life! Choose to go through the rough patches and relearn life without the crutch of cigarettes because you can and will Succeed Believe it and stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance so each evening you can look yourself in the mirror and smile and say yay for another Day WON!
