She lives in Cookeville - which was hit. I just tried calling her and it went directly to voicemail.
WE'RE OK. Had earplugs in last night. Heard thunder sometime during the wee hours. Had a brief tornado? thought. But our weather radio wasn't screaming at us. Awakened to the news that there was a tornado that passed by REAL CLOSE. We were spared. Thank you for thinking of me.
Prayers for Kdot1st for safety and of loved ones.
Also for any injured.
And for the families and friends of any who passed as a result.
(On a personal note have sent out e-mails to my family in Fall Branch and in Johnson City, Tennessee- waiting responses)
Whew! So glad you are alright. Kdot1st hope you and family are safe as well. Sending prayers to all those affected in the tornada.
Giulia I about got sick when I heard you were not here and everyone trying to reach you. I THANK GOD you and Rand are okay. Love you and sending prayers for your community.
You were closer than we were kdot at 3.4 miles away. Doesn't really matter. Latest count here are 18 dead 70 missing. If you pray - pray for our community and those others decimated by this nasty thang. It really make you think, though. Why was that house totally destroyed and the one next to it not. No answer, really, just fate and the turn of the winds.
So many people here have volunteered to help that they've requested no more volunteers. Well this is called the Volunteer State for a reason.
Giulia I am so sorry for those who lost loved ones and those who lost their homes. Tornadoes hitting in the middle of the night are so scary. I guess they are scary at any time. This one looks as though it was particularly violent. Makes my heart hurt for those left behind.
I heard that they did not want any more volunteers, that is pretty impressive, Volunteer State or not.
Love,
Ellen
