Hey everyone! Yes, so happy I am at day 12. Have a cleaning appointment this afternoon. Haven't seen a dentist in almost 2 years due to loosing insurance, but now have it again. Anyway, happy that I don't have to "white lie" with the hygenist/dentist about quitting smoking soon, like I always have said at each appointment, making excuses about the poor appearance of my teeth. So, I am happy about that. But, dreading it because my gums are still very sore and bleeding. This never happened with my other two failed attempts at quitting. Did tell them on Saturday what was going on and they said to just come in - I need x-rays anyway and they will see if they can clean my teeth at this time or if i have to wait a few weeks. So, I'll see. Yes, having fantasies about getting my teeth cleaned, shopping for teeth whitening products - having the brightest smile ever -but it looks like I will have to be patient. What has been your experience at the dentist after quitting? How long does it take for the gums to recover?
