Just wanted to say what a wonderful day it's been!!!  Went to see the hemotologist today with hubby,

(blood Dr.)  Until now we haven't been given much hope with his bone marrow or blood disease,

just on Saturday his general practioner more or less told him to talk with his family and friends about how he feels about dying.  It was a really sad day for both of us..........but then today we saw the specialist, and I said we couldn't wait until March for the meeting regarding his bone marrow transplant.  She immediately called cancercare and spoke to a Dr. there, and he will see him the end of August instead.  Yeaaaaaaaa..........getter going, it's just a meeting at this point, but it gives us great hope here!!!  It's all about if he survives the chemo and radiation, and if his brother is a match or not.........it's scary business, but at least now there is some hope on the horizon!!!  I feel blessed, and I know God heard my prayers last night!!!  It's not over, and he is a tough man, and he will fight with all his mite!!  I will never give up on him, even tho we have some scary times ahead.  I won't give up on my fight to quit the cigarettes for good either, this gives me a reason to live!!!  May many blessings be yours today and always, if your fighting a personal battle with cancer or COPD, I understand.........HE quit 15 years ago, and has stage 3 or 4 COPD.  But he is a fighter, he is my forever man!!!  Love to all you EX er's...........

I'm a widow now, my husband passed away January 1, 2018 He died of COPD, and pre leukemia and the flu. He quit smoking 15 years ago which gave him extra time. I am a mother, and grandmother. I have smoked for 47 years. I am going to have my forever quit and I'm doing it for me and my two daughters so I can live longer and be with them. I like to read, swim, garden, crochet, paint and doodle. I also enjoy walking and visiting with friends and family. I am 100% making this my last quit. I have been in denial about what smoking has done to me and my kids. I must make a new life for myself and it doesn't include cigarettes. I may already have COPD, but have not been officially diagnosed.
