Good morning Susan-
Thanks for getting the café up and running today. I will take a cup of black coffee when you get a chance.

Good morning friends! Look @ the 3 digit midget, our famous barsta....the incomparable, the exquisite, the magnificent....susan-m!!!!!
Well the storm got us for one day. Yesterday NIST (my employer) decided to have everyone stay home. And here we are back at it again.....
Right now, I am having my regular breakfast in our cafe (not near as snazzy as our EX_cafe for sure...and I am posting here with my favs....I'll attempt to upload a present time picture....we will see.
It sure is good to see the cafe open this morning....I hope the count starts going back up. Pati and I were wondering if maybe it had run it's course....we certainly hope not.....
Remember to keep smiling .....
Very nice, Pops!
It's lovely to see you today..... cafe days are my favorite because I get to spend them with all if you!
I too have been worried about longevity, particularly with the move to conversations. It;s hard to dispute that traffic has diminished - time will tell.
No matter what, this is a great community filled with love and friendship. If the cafe ends, we will find a way to continue daily connections.
Have a wonderful day!!!
xx
A very good morning to each of you enjoying some quality time visiting each other at the ex cafe, hopefully everyone in the path of that powerful Noreaster is safe and sound, I thought my house was going to come off its foundation last night but all is well this morning and I'm fortunate enough to still have my power, I hope YoungAtHeart and everyone else has power and no damage to their property, just a black coffee please! Susan-Mand thanks for opening up the cafe for all of us your friends and fellow Exers. this is ME!
Thank you Susan-M , the coffee is delicious here at the cafe and the service is the best service of any place I've ever been. thanks again hummmmm maybe I'll have a frosted cinnamon roll with my coffee. please and thank you.
MarilynH, I know you love to bake..... and I have just the rolls (and recipe) for you. I have not made these, but I have had them and they are fantastic. I love to cook, hate to bake (lol), but think that I could tackle these for my family and friends. What do you think?

Haven't stopped for coffee in a while so thought today would be a good day for it. Hot and black will do just fine. Only 6 degrees here this morning so need something to warm me up. Everyone have a fantastic smoke free Wednesday and remember Monday is Spring. (Hopefully)

'Fraid not - every one is dark brown and dead. So sad! Last year my hydrangeas and lilacs froze, too - and got no blossoms from any of them. Hope it didn't happen again. The buds were not as fully formed this year - so time will tell.
We had such an easy winter - guess we have to pay for it somehow!
I haven't gone into the yard to check yet, but I am very concerned about our redbud and cherry trees. It got into single digits here this morning.
I know it's just one season, but still - the redbud was a little seedling brought to us by our son 20 years ago. I look forward to seeing it bloom every year!
Hopefully the worst is over for you!
@YoungAtHeart , who are you kidding?! I put my ear down to those lips and I heard Buzz light year yelling as he was falling into that endless pit..."to infinity...and beyond!!!!!" There isn't enought chocolate frosting in the planet to satisfy your pallet....
Mornin' all. I would like a nice big cup of black coffee and maybe some dry oatmeal toast. Exciting, huh? Have a wonderful day, everyone. My oldest daughter who lives in Western NY state said the drive in to work today was treacherous. It's really cold here but no snow left from yesterday's storm, it melted off in the sun.
I LIKE my dry toast, I don't feel like I am being punished. It's a good way to start out, I can always add things later. Thanks for my particle board, it's a little HEAVY.
I agree Ellen. I love fresh toasted oatmeal bread. I love the subtle flavor, and the texture. I like it with a little nut butter, too, but hot and crusty, it is a treat all by itself, completely bare.
The thing about oatmeal toast is that it's not very sexy. You have to "have your tasters on" to really appreciate its quiet flavor. Chocolate (my other true love, dang it) is loud in your mouth. Right here, right now, I'm talking chocolate.
And what a joy it is to rediscover all the intensity of flavors now that I don't smoke anymore.
Thanks for a great day at the cafe, everyone! We are flipping to self-serve mode.
Be sure to visit us Friday when Pati (c2q) is hosting and then again on Sunday when Pops is at the helm.
I will leave you tonight with a secret of mine: when I host the cafe, it's a day long trigger to smoke. I think it's the socialization, but I am not 100% sure. Because it's a trigger, I can't wait for my days to barista. I hit 'em head on, and each time is easier because of it. I do not fear my addiction.
My point is that we are all different and we all manage in our own way. My way is quoted best by Dale: The only way out is through. Thanks for helping me tame my addiction.
Peace and love, peeps.
We are sorry but the EX_cafe is closed now. Please come back and join us on Friday morning where Pati, aka c2q will be at the helm providing great insight, humor and in general...an all around great sense of being alive....In the meantime, please continue to remain smokefree and reach out to help another EXer defeat this addiction...who knows, the life you save may be your own...
Good morning, EXers! Here's hoping that all in the path of the blizzard are safe and warm this morning!
It's so nice to open the cafe and know that I will be able to spend time with my EX family today. Who's ready for coffee?
