About the groups

     I have been here for 2 years now and I rarely go to the groups that I have joined I find the format confusing .Now that we have a place to ask questions ( I like this place  ! ) here goes . 

     First : How do you find  the beginning of the days discussion quickly and easily ?

    Second: Why does one discussion go on for years ? If you choose another discussion will anyone see it ? Will Ex'ers get aggravated if someone decises to  begIn a new discussion ?  I was going to reply to Love Yourself and when I hit reply to original discussion it said reply to Smorgy so i just felt confused and left the group .

I can answer the latter part of your question:  There are two places to reply/comment on blogs and discussions.   If you go to Smorgy's blog Love Yourself!  and scroll briefly down you will see a large red Add a Reply button before the comments start.  

Also, if you go to the very end of all the comments by clicking on the red underlined arrow 

you'll see a button that says Reply to Original Discussion.  

If you want to reply to a specific person you would click under their response on Reply.

You can find today's discussion in for example: https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/message/32408-love-yourself?sr=search&searchId=f81bc581-7a6d-4cb3... right under the title where it says:

Latest reply on Feb 19, 2017 by XXX. Just click on the latest reply.

This discussion has gone on for Years because there is a small group of us that wish to share a cozy place for us to talk about Self Esteem and Self Care. You are always Welcome to come in and we all encourage you to do so!

If you choose another discussion already listed anybody following the Group https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/groups/positive-affirmations-and-support?sr=search&searchId=377a8...‌ will definitely see it. I believe that those not following that Group will see it though. I created a Group called Positive Affirmations for Success on the old sight and it was incorporated with a couple of other small Groups to form this new Group. As such I want to reassure anybody that they most certainly are invited to begin any new discussion in this Group! You do not need to ask permission to do this! The Group belongs to all of it's followers!

Although this format says reply to Thomas or reply to Smorgy that is just the format and it goes to all followers of the Group.

Bonnie I personally would be honored if you give it another chance and ask again if you have any more format questions! It would be so nice to see you there regularly!

I created the group because I truly believe that growing Self Esteem and Self Care through Affirmations makes us more Successful Quitters!

Thanks Thomas I will try again ! I like the new format but in some ways it is almost too "Big "so many places to go . That is also why I think  some things get few comments.

Maybe but I don't look at comments here - I look for views. If people are reading what you're putting down it isn't a waste of time! Don't lose heart, Bonnie! We'll get through this together!

Bonnie.  I definitely see how the community feels bigger now with the additional posting options but we actually reduced the number of places by reducing from 600+ groups to just over 230.  It proabably also feels bigger since there is more visibility to the architecture of the site.  It was tough previously for me to know where I was in the community previously if I ventured outside the blogs, profiles and members list.  Maybe I need a before and after diagram

Thank You Mark I think it feels very large to me right now because in the old Ex I never ventured much beyond the blogs I am getting used to it . I love the ease in uploading photo's and the colors are great too !  All in all it is  a much improved platform  and I thank all for your very hard work !!!

Makes sense.  It was amazing how you used the old community to the best of everyone's ability.  You certainly you made do with what was available.  Hopefully soon it will be old hat.

Searching is much better on this new community so searching before you start something new is a great way to join an existing conversation and be part of something "happening".
