Okay, so here is the bottom line. Christians still sin even after they become Christians. Biblically speaking, we are all called by the Big Boss Upstairs to take care of our bodies. It is the only one we are going to get. Smoking, as I have found, is one of those things that doesn't help in taking care of our physical bodies (no kidding, huh).
Yes, I am going to get a little preachy. Look at the name of the group for goodness sake. Rest assured that we are not damned to hell for smoking and God can restore your health (Isaiah 38:16 (NIV)). And remember, Christ didn't come to heal the healthy (Mark 2:17 (NIV)).
I have been a Christian for 5 years and a smoker for 12 (total not counting the duration of the last time I quit). Here are some biblical verses to ponder about the body for those who think the Bible doesn't say anything about smoking (as I once did):
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV)
2 Corinthians 7:1 (NIV)
1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 (NIV)
If you have any others, which I am sure there are, please respond to this post.
God bless,
Tyomad

So, thank you for making this group!
Noooo I'm praying that was just a rhetorical question, lol, and hopefully no one has actually tried to pass that little nugget of knowledge on to you. It's not true at all.
GOD who loves us". My main plan is to take a moment to pray through the urges and a moment to give gratutide at their passing. That is what brought me to GOD'S grace when my former husband packed up his viagra and left for a mini me and a new life. I found GOD is bigger, better, and more loving than I had ever imagined. He is not confined to a building with a steeple, He is indeed here for the hurt, lost, struggling, and imperfect. He loves us no matter what and will help us when we reach out. Easy no, doable yes. I read a prayer online that had a part that went something like; It is not for me to take away your craving, but for you to give it up to me. So cravings I will have, I just have to give them up to GOD and trust. Anyway that is who I am where I'm at. I hope to not only get help on this site but to give help as well. May our loving Father give grace and healing to all us struggling quitters and may we remember this is one time being a quitter is a good thing. Love and laughter to all. Lynn
