How do you live without your coffee and a smoke? Quite well, actually. All you need is a good temporary substitute. Get rid of the coffee for a week at least. Yeah, I know, I can hear you now, "But I've already given up one major thing I like.., how can I give up another...." Believe me, you can and should. My morning consisted of arising, boiling water while I lit my first cigarette of the day and then smoking about five in a row while I had my one or two cups of coffee. That was my breakfast. So I switched to tea for a while. Ugh. Didn't much care for it, but it sure didn't **** any triggers either. I'm tellin' ya, drink something different - just for a week. It'll really help with those coffee triggers. After a week it won't be so bad. How did you live without your coffee and cigarettes when you were 12? Bet ya did so just fine. Right? THEY changed you, and then you changed. Change yourself back. Cheering you on.... Giulia
Just please keep in mind.... EVERYTHING YOU CAN DO WITH A SMOKE YOU CAN DO WITHOUT ONE!!! Or you wouldn't have made it past age 1. Do some research on how the smoking is killing you... I know when I was still smoking I avoided all of that stuff b/c it made me feel bad. Now that I have quit it is staggering how awful smoking is for a body. It will lead to death. Be proud of your healthy new self and just take it one cup of coffee and one day at a time.
Thank you Giulia.Im sorry it took me so long to get back I was at work for the week and jest got back to my pc. I never thought of tea. I will try that but- Did you ever go back to coffee? Richard P
How to keep the patch on? Hmmm. Crazy glue? Maybe heavy duty bandage adhesive tape? Uh, try putting it in a spot where you don't sweat at much? Maybe use an antiperspirant on the area first? All of which means - I don't know. As far as coffee: you bet I went back to coffee. And it didn't take me too long to do so. Just four or five days of tea drinking to get out of the mental connection between coffee and cigs. For you it might take longer. You'll know instinctively I think when you can go back safely. If it brings on a major crave, return to the tea for a while. Keep on keeping on.
I am having the same problem. It stays on fine until I work out or go out in the heat then it just starts to fall right off, which makes me nervous because if one falls off and my babies get a hold of it it could be really dangerous. I also get these annoying itchy sensations right below the patch sometimes.
The itchy sensations is jest the stuff starting to work but keep an eye out for a rash. As for the falling off. I an haveing better luck on my lower back the skin dosen't strech as much and there is less sweat. I hope some of this works for you. Richard P
