Why I started at 13 I will never know, but here it is 30 years later and I was going to quit today, but I slipped and had 2. For me the light headiness and the confusion was just too much for me today. Tomorrow is another day.
Not very good. I am going to quit after I finish the pack I bought yesterday. I am having a lot of trouble with the initial withdrawal sysmptoms...I have anxiety disorder, and when I was dizzy yesterday, it felt like an attack was coming on. I am also sick, so my timing was not good. Thanks for your support. Any suggestions?
Suggestions?: Don't buy another pack? Sorry, couldn't help m'self there. Uh, smoke every other day? Then every other other day? So you only had two yesterday you said. Did you buy the pack AFTER the two or before the two? And either way, why do you have to "finish the pack." Nothin' in the rule book says finish the pack before you quit again, ya know. Actually putting the remainder of the pack under the kitchen faucet is a real good incentive 'cause it shows you how you're throwing your money down the drain. Try it.
Try NRT to help w/the light headiness and confusion. It won't elimate it but it will put it at a level that is functional and it only takes about 2 days before that is gone as well. I am 42 days now, on NRT and i can honestly say there is no way i would have made it ONE hour w/o it. Do whatever it takes to help you not smoke.
Thank you for your support Heather. I just got the patches this morning and i'm going to start with them tomorrow morning. Thank you for letting me know that they do help with the fogginess and dizziness. Keep going girl...you're doing great!
EXCUSES, EXCUSES, EXCUSES Stop. I did the same thing. I have now been clean and smoke free for 7 mths. I used Chantix( lots of side effects) but I muddled through. I made a promise to myself that I will never pick up a cigarette again. I smoked for 43 yrs. I feel wonderful now but still have those craving and haven't caved yet. i have diabetes and high blood pressure but haven't seen a change in either of them yet.
Hi Debbie, glad to hear you're going on 7 months! That's great!!! I did the Chantix about a year ago and ended up in the hospital, so that didn't work for me. Then I quit cold turkey last week...only lasted 3 days, and now I am on day 2 of the patch. I will just go day by day. Thanks and keep going.
NRT is patches, nicotene gum, etc. Nicotene replacement therapy is the formal term. I swear, there is no way i would have EVER been able to quit w/o the patches. I'm 7/12 weeks smoke free now. Never ever have i been this successful before and this is my 4th attempt.
Uh, smoke every other day? Then every other other day?
