Does anyone know if its safe to use patches with high blood pressure?

I forgot to ask my doctor today if I can use patches if I have high blood pressure. I will start to take medication for my blood pressure in a week or so. Does anyone know if I can use the patches before then?

Truly the best person to answer this question is your Doctor. While many of us have medical backgrounds, we don't know your history and it is VERY risky to take medical advice online . There are many factors to consider and your medical history would play a large role in that Please consult your Doctor. Since you were just seen, perhaps you could call and ask to speak to his Nurse during office hours. Hope this helps you

When I quit originally, my bp was 216/118...then I quit and needed patches to help me through the beginning.  My bp still improved to around 135/70 with meds as well.  I'm now back to 38 days, still taking bp meds, and I am rocking 135/65!  But bear in mind that is me.  Plus I have 3 bp cuffs that I own, and I check it at least twice a week.

If the alternative is smoking then patches would win every time.
