You really have to decide you will not smoke NO MATTER WHAT.  Find another outlet for your anger ---- slow. deep breaths are something you can use anytime, anywhere.  When you smoke half a cigarette, you are re-energizing those nicotine sensors in your  brain, and they will just become more demanding.  Do something ELSE!!!

You can do this - but it does take some effort to distract yourself.

If you have nothing to do try reading.....

I also encourage you to read. Allen Carr’s book, “Easy Easier Way to Quit Smoking”.

Nancy is correct...the smoke you had only fires up the sensors making you crave again until the next smoke.  Read Alan Carr and maybe that line of thinking will click for you.

Decide NOPE - Not One Puff ever!!!

I am very sorry for the drama that your ex brings into your life.  I wish I knew exactly what to tell you. I am searching to give you support.  We all have drama to a certain degree.  Some we create and some we allow.  So what your Ex is doing is what you allow and what you used for an EXcuse to smoke.  We all have an EXcuse to smoke but there will always be a choice to smoke or not to smoke.  Of course, this does not happen over night.  It takes planning and preparing for the next time something dramatic happens.   Life happens it is how we response that matters.  So I suggest that you arm yourself with an education and a plan.  Here is a point to start this journey called FREEDOM both from cigs and your EX.

Start first, by educating yourself about nicotine addiction.  Education is the key to a successful quit.  Read: Freedom from Nicotine My Journey Home and Nicotine Addiction 101

Here are the links: http://whyquit.com/whyquit/LinksAAddiction.html   and http://whyquit.com/ffn/

I also encourage you to read. Allen Carr’s book, “Easy Easier Way to Quit Smoking”.

Smoking won't fix anything...ANYTHING, trust me, I tried it for everything.  You cannot consider it to be an option.  I used the acronym, NOPE, Not One Puff Ever...over and over and over again.  It, along with the support and education here HELP.  Stay close to the site, reach out, blog, comment, let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

Welcome to EX,

Ellen
