Give and get support around quitting
I smoke the most when i get home from work. It is now a habit to have a sig when i walk in. If i don't, i have anxiety. What is wrong with me? And I beat my self up that I have anxiety over this habit. It's a stupid sircle.
Nicotine causes anxiety. Once we get away from the addiction, we can see that truth, but it takes a while. My anxiety is lessened and blood pressure is much lower now and it is a gift. Hang in there and as many have said, education is key!! hugs to you, Laura
Partl of Addiction is triggers. Cravings don’t come out of nowhere. You usually smoke when you arrive home, so you feel anxious if you don’t smoke in that situation.
if you choose not to smoke, you will deactivate the triggers. You will no longer feel like smoking when you go home. You will experience anxiety until you get use to not smoking when you come home. Just don’t smoke, use coping skills you learn from this site and from the readings. It’s guaranteed to work.
