I used the 21mg patch. I didn't know what I was doing. I could have started with the 7mg patch because I was down to 5 cigarettes a day.   I forgot my third day but felt shaky the next morning so I put one on. The next week, I forgot two days in a row so I just stopped. So I went from 21mg to nothing for two days and didn't even notice it.

So I say listen to your body. 

I put a patch in my wallet with a promise I would put it on rather than smoke. I kept it there as a security blanket my 1st year. Never thought of it once.
